Mark Continues its Support for Men's Health
At the last meeting of the Essex Installed Mark Master Masons Lodge held at Saxon Hall on 11th September, a cheque for £2,000 was given to Professor Chris Booth in support of the charity CHAPS (Colchester Has Active Prostate Support www.chaps.uk.com). This charity aims to raise awareness of and supports the development of new health services directly targeted at men’s needs, with the objective of enabling them to take care of their own health and wellbeing.
That evening Professor Booth, Consultant Urologist at Anglian Urology (www.anglianurology.co.uk), had given a very interesting talk on the work that he and his team were doing looking at the screening for a number of conditions specifically affecting men.
This definitely raised the awareness of these conditions within the 110 brethren attending the meeting and a very stimulating discussion followed the talk with a particularly reference to screening and treatment for prostate problems.
