On Wednesday, 12th August, the Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Terence D. Sheern, attended the 4th Rochford Scout Group to present their leader Dave Moss with a cheque for £770 for two new kayaks.
Following the continued promotion of the Mark Benevolent Fund as an available source of charitable funds, Steve Joslin, a Past Master of St. Katherines Lodge, contacted the Trustees with a petition for assistance with the purchase of new kayaks for a local Scout Group.
The 4th Rochford Scout Group, meeting at John Howard Hall in Rochford; whose Leaders are Dave Moss; Bill Neobard; Tim Neobard and Steve Tong; one of whose members is the son of Steve Joslin, use the kayaks in their regular scouting activities including sharing with other, local, groups.
The two new kayaks will be called "The Mark Master" and "The Mariner" and the keen-eyed will be able to see them , amongst other areas, on the waters around Barling.
(We are unable to confirm if they will be Maroon and Green!)
